It's time to learn about digitization!!!
This site explains, in detail, what exactly digization is. We will also look at examples of some of the most popular developments in the world of digitization. Start off by looking below to learn what digitization means, then follow the links on the top of the page to see some of the examples of this megatrend.

What exactly is Digitization?
Well, that is a good quesiton. Dictionary.com states that digitization is a way that something is put (data, for example) into digital form.

That's kind of vague, what are some examples of digitization?

There are many examples of what digitization has done to the consumer market. There are many things that we use on a daily basis that involve digitization. Even the thing that you are using to view this webpage is an example of digitization. But on this site I will explore the enterainment side of digitization. I will touch on DVDs, HDTVs, and Digital Video Camcorders. Just follow the links at the top of the page, to view your favorite type of digitization example.

What are some of the problems with Digitization?
One of the main problems with the digital megatrend is that alot of people are hesitant to get involved with things that are digital. Many people are still even computer illiterate (like my parents). Many people are happy with their vcrs, and tvs and whatnot. And that's...ok. Another problem is the price. The more technology advances, the more it will cost. Granted, since DVDs and DVD players have come out, the price of each has gone down considerably. Still, there is alot of money involved to update a household to the digital age, and people have to be willing to put the will, time and effort into doing so.

CLOSING ARGUMENTS!!!:
Digitization is going faster than some people can handle. I think that if you know alot about it, and know what you want, you should dive in head first and get as involved as much as you can. But if you think you need to buy digital stuff just to say you have these things, but dont know how to use it to the full extent, stay out. I enjoy everything digital that I own, so for all you people out there hastily buying DVDs and DVD players...STOP, cause the people (like me!) want you stuff and if you dont use it, give it to me.
